About POZSeattle |
POZSeattle
is a 300-member strong grassroots organization of HIV+ gay men. POZSeattle is the only organization in the Puget Sound
area that plans and coordinates social events for HIV+ gay men that was founded
in 1999.
Our original creation came
from the awareness in the HIV+ community for social
connections and networking beyond that provided by traditional social service
organizations and a realization that HIV+ gay men are seeking events that are purely social.
POZSeattle isn’t affiliated with any other service organization.
Because of this, our events are fun, and low stress, without
presentations with a message. If you
are seeking something other than social, please refer to the resources page.
In addition to our monthly
social at the Cuff, every second Wednesday of the month, special events are
periodically planned. We also
encourage members to organize their own events, such as hiking, potlucks,
movies, biking, etc., and we’ll promote the event via e-mails to our members
and postings on our web site.
We
welcome all HIV+ gay men without regard to race, color, age, religion, national
origin, or disability who are living with HIV/AIDS. We have no membership
dues or formalities. You are encouraged to subscribe to our email list to
receive emails about upcoming events. This
list is confidential and will never be used to send emails other than POZSeattle
announcements.
Financial support for POZSeattle comes largely from members and friends.
